Senior Basketball

In the 2011/12 season the club will be running two mens teams. The first team will be playing in the Herts Premier League, a very competitive 10 team competition, while the second team will be playing in the local Cambs league, made up of teams from around the county.  Both competitions operate on a home and away basis.

The club also plans to run over the course of the season, various competitive intra-club fixtures for those players not featuring regularly in either the first or second teams. The make up of the first and second teams remains fluid. Selection for each team will be based on ability, attendance and player availability. Hence some players may well play in both first and second teams from time to time during the course of the season.

Training for adult players takes place on Wednesday nights from 8-10pm.  The training sessions are a mix of conditioning, drills and scrimages, with players from all teams participating together. The intention is that practises be kept competitive and enjoyable, despite the mixed ability of the participants. The club has traditionally attracted a wide variety of players, in terms of ability, age, and (given Cambridge's international flavour) cultural backgrounds.

The club has a number of verteran players (over 40) and regularly enters teams in masters tournaments, including the UK masters, as well as arranging games with other regional vets teams.

We are open to all. Prospective players are welcome to come along for a session to see for themselves how they fit in.  The club also adheres to a charter of behaviour for its members, a copy of which can be found on this site. All players and coaches are expected to abide by the  terms of the charter.
